We Are Trees - Final Round

One of the gratest band to listen during the summers, their pseudo-folk is something incredible with the sound that resumes Grizzly Bear but is less boring for shore.

After a wonderful Boyfriend Ep came more developed Girlfriend Ep which should contain the life. Recorded during the episodes of Buffi is one of the best work I ever seen. So my congratulations to them all!

The Retuses - Lasdehnen

The Retuses is one man band from Moscow who release old style songs with bad caracter. The texts are all above the profanity love, is a modern poet.

Misha Rodionov is a young dude fan of Vincent Moon, photography and of course of music. His first release saw light in 2007 when he and his friend Cyrill Nazarov recorded a six minutes Ep “For A Minute” on a one minute dictophone. In 2009 the first Lp saw light, a wonderful collection of lo fi songs recorded in most unprobable places, like in the old abandoned car or nside of the water tower. The new work Waltz Baltika! was released few time ago, preceded by a fantastic Ep dedicated to the Russian poet Iesenin.

Waltz Baltika! is a tribute to the time spent in Kaliningrad, very nostalgic album with powerful songs with incredible amount of instruments and with a lovely cover art. Misha doesn’t know anything about his future, he only knows thet music is an inseparable part of him.

What regards the new Russian music scene, is becoming more and more interesting with big amount of grate artists as Motorama, Padla Bear Outfit, Mpala Garoo, Velvet Breasts and Retuses of course.

Old Arc - Sleepcatcher

Old Arc invented the sun and I like listen Old Arc under the sun! Their new release is something between usual tribal-chill-pop sound, pseudo funk and some kind of sub pop (especially vocal), which I can’t understand, and for this I like it. In this track they mashed up violins and electronic drums in a completely absurd way, decreasing the synths (not a good idea for me).

Austin and Stefen are planning to release their debut Lp in this moths and focusing heavily on their live performances, especially in LA.

They also made a grate song “Stay Calm” which you can download on iTunes.

Le Chevalier - Gabriel

Le Chevalier is a dream pop project from Montreal which make you enter in a surreal atmosphere thanks to relaxed choirs, weak drums and a loop tribute to 80’s synths.

Till now this carried out a six track “Songs From This Room” relised in October of 2010, and an album “Dancer” which should appear one of this days. One of their latest tracks is To Preambule, grate psychedelic sound with the vocal in nice view, so something is changing, hope to see a new Le Chevalier in this new album!

Another thing that strikes me is the perfect abbination music-visual, in fact all their images are perfectly combined with the music creating that wonderful atmosphere!

So their music is something no to miss!

Pogo - Lost

Nick Bertke is a young dude from Perth, Western Australia better known as Pogo and is the man behind movie remixes, as Alice and Upular. His music is very particular, with soft tones which makes to think about chillwave and some times also jazz slips between the different souns.

He say that he spent so much time making music that it’s now all he do with his life. His music is something not to miss!

Wolvepop - Sahara

Wolvepop is a chillwave/electronic duo from NYC actualy based in Rome, their sound ranges from deep chillwave to rude lo fi. The first unofficial release saw light in lait December of 2010, just some demos which then revised would appear in early January of 2011 in an interesting self titled Wolvepop Ep, which you can download for free, or to pay it as much as you want, and I consider it as a good idea, because is correct to support the duo also economically.

Sahara and Los Sunsets are two singles from an upcoming album enclosed in Y Y, released one month after the Ep, sound is changing, becoming les electronic, very noise and experimental, something reminds me unouomedude, anyway grate job.
